4 of us (2 couples) stayed a week in the apartment in early January and couldn't have had a better time. Although the easiest way to get there from the airport is by car, it means that you have the ability to get to a handful of ski resorts, all within 20 minutes or so, which is great for a varied and interesting holiday. The apartment itself has indoor parking which is especially good when it's cold out and provides piece of mind too. The apartment is equipped with absolutely everything that you could need, from a good set of cooking knives and pots and pans to a whole selection of board games, dvds and an excellent hi-fi system, all of which ensured we felt right at home. Everything is beautifully looked after and very comfortable indeed, so we felt like we were in a home away from home from the second we stepped through the door.
The detail in the welcome pack is remarkable and answered every question we had through the week, meaning we felt like we had local tip-offs for things to do near by as well as all questions answered about the apartment itself.
All in all, the 4 of us had a magnificent week in an excellent apartment and would go back in a heartbeat.
5th stay in this apartment. Great location for access to St Foy, Les Arcs, La Rosiere and Tignes. Comfortable stylish apartment in pretty village with good bar!
Super apartment - caffeine addicts liked the Nespresso coffee machine . Loved the resort of Ste Foy - it is small but the snow was great and the slopes were almost empty. So all in all a great stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Silver Fox Apartment in Ste Foy Tarentaise. We loved the apartment, by far the best we've stayed in during many years of family ski trips. Very clean, comfortable and well laid out. Ian Locke, the owner, did everything possible to make the arrangements and arrival as easy as possible. The village is a bit of a drive from the slopes, but it's on the Navette bus route. If you've got transport it's within easy range of three major ski areas, as well as Ste Foy Station itself, where the skiing is excellent. Covered parking was particularly handy. The village itself has retained much of its original quiet Alpine character.
Great apartment. Very well appointed. Generous amenities including: DVD's (a blessing!) - games (fantastic range, monopoly much enjoyed by all) - & CD's (enjoyed some new sounds!)
All utilities of of good quality which was very much appreciated.
The instructions, suggestions & leaflets on things to do were superb.
Really nice apartment!! Ticks the boxes for après ski in that there's plenty of hot water (and fluffy towels) for all, nice and warm but with good big windows and views and it's a very sociable layout with kitchen/dining/sitting all in one big space with bedrooms off.
They've gone completely OTT on stuff - there's nothing you could want for, better equipped than most peoples kitchens at home; quality hairdryers (again better than home) and good entertainment facilities, TV/DVD/CD etc.etc. It's great being in the village too (as opposed to resort) with a choice of restaurants plus the local boulangerie which the boys visited every morning en route to the bar - for an early coffee only I'm assured! That will probably be even more of a bonus outside the ski season when staying in a purpose built (and probably very dead) resort isn't ideal - lots of character in the village.
First reactions count, easy access, clean, well equipped with quality products from cooking appliances to towels and sheets. Certainly not your typical holiday let. We did not need to contact the owner for anything so a well organised let in my mind. Good skiing as well!
The property was in a great location; and felt like a real home from home. Clean and well-maintained with great attention to detail. The only negative would be there is not a lot of work space in the kitchen if you chose to cook; so you would have to utilise the dining table. The apartment is close to restaurants and the village of Ste Foy, there is a bus to the ski resort if you choose not to drive.
I would certainly recommend to friends and family. The resort is perfect for families and with so many prestigious ski resorts close by there is something for everyone.
We hope to return again and would certainly stay again in this luxury apartment.
We had a wonderfull time in Ste. Foy and in your excellent appartement!
There was nice weather, sunny and excellent snowconditions!!
Hopefully we go again next year!
Thanks for our nice stay !
Have been meaning to drop you a line to say thank you for the use of your lovely apartment. You are very lucky - I imagine it's beautiful there in the summer too.
Everything went very smoothly thanks to your detailed instructions and information.
We had a fabulous week, probably the best snow conditions I've ever experienced which of course made the skiing even more enjoyable. We couldn't believe how empty the slopes were, quite often, on a morning especially, we would be the only people in sight as we skiied down a run, we even had a dabble at off piste. You were right about the Ski Set shop they were very helpful.
Your apartment was perfect, extremely well equipped I think you've thought of everything. Really appreciated the dish washer which is a luxury we don't have at home. My husband, who is an avid coffee drinker thought an electric kettle would be an improvement (he is very impatient!!) but other than that everything was perfect. We made the most of your dvd collection and managed to get our ipod to work but unfortunately hadn't taken the charger so it didn't last for long. We ate at the hotel Le Monal several times and always found the food to be excellent and the staff very friendly.
Thanks for the loan of your wonderful apartment - equipped with all we needed for our 'boys' (or is that 'gents') trip, and only a short hop to the bars and restaurants of Ste Foy.
Had good meals both times we visited Le Monal, and a great place for watching the Six Nations, in spite of the French getting beaten by the Welsh. Skiing-wise, we enjoyed our day cruising La Rosiere, challenging stuff at Les Arcs, and a day of powder at Ste Foy to cap it all.
Our only comment (not meant to be a negative), is that you really should emphasise how convenient the location is for skiing Les Arcs - the Villaroger lift is only 5 minutes from the apartment, we counted only 5 other cars in the car park there, and 2 lifts later we had the whole of the Paradiski at our disposal! Oh yes, and beautiful deserted slopes to enjoy on our return at the end of the day. Next time, all we need to do is book that Lebanese restaurant so we can try that, and try to ski 'that' red in Les Arcs a bit better (sure it should be a black though...).
Just a quick note to say many thanks again for letting us use the apartment. we were very pleasantly surprised with the position and quality. We skied mainly in Tignes with a day in Val.
I hope you thought we left the apartment in a suitable condition as we treated it with all due respect. I think the only thing that got over used was the beds as we retired so early every night. Gary
Just for my two penneth. My two daughters loved the apartment and the nice little walk each evening to the restaurant on the corner, where you could go posh upstairs or Pizza and Burger it downstairs. The restaurant next door looked equally as nice but a bit more up market than we needed for our daily top up before retiring with a beer and a film to our sumptuous quarters.
The choice of being able to ski "Paradiski" ( Les Arcs, La Plagne and Les Coches) and or Espace Killy ( Val D'Isere and Tignes) both 25 mins away from the Apartment is also a bonus and next time we would probably do Paradiski by way of a change. For future tenants if they go to Tignes car park 3 and take the steps to the right you come up right next to the lift ( Palafour from memory ) great for us old uns who can no longer walk after a days skiing. Ian
Just a short note to say thank you for such a lovely apartment. This was our first time Skiing and having such as great place to stay was a huge bonus.
As first-timers, St. Foy was very friendly, the Ski Station was suitably non-threatening, and obviously full of families like us - although slightly frustrating to see how easily the children picked up skiing!!.
Coming back from the slopes was great because the apartment had everything we could have needed - high quality furnishings, clean and comfortable and of course fantastic views to gaze at with our après-ski drinks - coffee most days as too tired for anything stronger! Your help leading up to the holiday was invaluable and made us feel like we were visiting a friend's house rather than a paying apartment.
We really didn't want for anything and were sad to leave at the end of the week. We have talked to a lot of friends about the trip since getting home and a few have asked for details - so hopefully there is some business there for you in the future. If not, I'm sure we will be looking to make a return visit.
